About Monitor Size Comparison Tool
What We Do
Monitor Size Comparison Tool helps you visualize the real-world size difference between monitors before you buy. Select any combination of screen sizes and aspect ratios to see an accurate, to-scale comparison rendered on a virtual desk.
Whether you're upgrading from a 24-inch to a 27-inch, debating between an ultrawide and a dual-monitor setup, or just curious how a 49-inch super ultrawide compares to your current screen, our tool shows you exactly what to expect.
How It Works
We use trigonometric calculations based on the diagonal screen size and aspect ratio to determine the exact width and height of each monitor. Given a diagonal measurement (d) and aspect ratio (w:h), the physical dimensions are:
- Height = d / sqrt((w/h)^2 + 1)
- Width = (w/h) x Height
These dimensions are then scaled proportionally and rendered on an interactive virtual desk. You can drag monitors to reposition them and toggle between inches and centimeters for measurements.
Who It's For
- Gamers choosing between standard and ultrawide displays
- Professionals planning a productive multi-monitor workspace
- Designers and video editors evaluating screen real estate for creative work
- Anyone upgrading their monitor who wants to understand the size difference before buying
